Anchored for Living
Set along Gloucester’s wooded shoreline, a beloved stone and slate cottage has been thoughtfully expanded and reimagined by Carpenter & MacNeille. Preserving its iconic architecture while adding 1,200 square feet, the team crafted a serene, modern retreat that honors family legacy and the rugged coastal landscape. Architect Michael Gray and interior designer Elizabeth Arkins infused the home with Scandinavian-inspired design, custom millwork, and locally sourced artisan elements, blending natural textures and refined craftsmanship for a warm, contemporary feel. The result is a harmonious sanctuary that balances timeless charm with bold, modern living.
